I bought this art deco tea trolley at my favourite 2nd hand store in Dunedin about 12 or more years ago. The top tier was broken when I bought it (plain glass, unattached chrome ring) and I've always meant to fix it but never got around to it! Well, the day has come.....ta da!
All I had to do was spray paint the underside of the glass and reattach the chrome ring with some small nails and polish the chrome with bicarbonate of soda and it was done.

I've been busy unpacking boxes over the last few days and came across these Czechoslovakian buttons from the 1940's. I have boxes full of buttons so will take more photos as I uncover them. I thought I was starting to get somewhere with unpacking the boxes of fabric then I went down to the basement today and found more - not sure how I'm going to fit it all in the sewing room. My daughters school fair is coming up so I'll use some up making bunting for the craft stall. My problem is I find the vintage fabric hard to use as I'm a hoarder and can't bear to part with it! Consequently, my house fills up with "treasures" and nothing's leaving it, then my long suffering partner has a meltdown and I promise to stop bringing stuff home.
It never works.

I've just finished a shelf for my daughters bedroom wall. She has so many nic nacs (can't imagine where she gets that from!) that I needed a way to display them. I bought this small shelf at an op shop for $10, found the blue paint in the basement (left by the previous owner) and bought a 1960's atlas from the op shop too. I've got another similar one that I'm going to back with some vintage fabric.
