This Weeks Finds....

I bought this at the op shop yesterday and I've already made it into a cushion - pics tomorrow!

another dome clock ready to be transformed.

I'm not sure why I keep buying these childrens costume patterns....

pretty...

I have a bit of a "thing" for printed needle cord - not sure where it comes from....maybe my 70's childhood?

Blogtoberfest 2012....

I'm taking part in Blogtoberfest again this year, this time hosted by I Saw You Dancing. The objective is to blog every day for the month of October and is a great way to meet new bloggers and be inspired by what you see. It will definitely be a challenge for me!

New Stockist....

I have a new stockist for my range of hand poured candles - The Cool Store Gallery in sunny Mapua.

They stock a wide range of New Zealand made art and giftware so I'm proud to be associated with them!

This Weeks Finds....

I didn't have a successful week op shopping this week but that's probably a good thing when I look at the growing piles of fabric and "stuff" in my sewing room! One day I'll take some pics to show you the full horror....

Anyway, I went for quality not quantity this week!

A scary Japanese biscuit barrell - I'm going to plant a succulent in it (the only plant I can't kill).

I've already made this plate into the top tier of a cake stand (pics tomorrow).

Ta Da! A 1920's Ostrich feather cape! Only $27 from Savemart. SCORE!

This Weeks Finds....

I have lots of goodies to show you this week! I even found a new op shop - oh dear....

I love this tapestry so much that I can't bear to use it on one of my cushions so I'm going to paint the frame and put it in my daughters room!

I feel OK about using these ones - however pretty they are...

Not sure why I bought this as I'll never get around to doing it. Actually, I already have a finished and framed one of this so why do I need another one?!

The colours in this piece of Viyella are gorgeous...

When I was growing up my Dad had one of these on the back of his and mums bedroom door - I couldn't resist it!

More nostalgia! My parents had this cutlery set as their "good" cutlery. I'm presuming they got it for a wedding present. The backstamp is Rostfritt Stal.

When searching through a jar of buttons I found this name tag. You have to pity the poor girl!

New Tapestry Cushions...

I fought my way through the piles of fabric in my sewing room and made some tapestry cushions! Unfortunately, my industrial sewing machine has spat the dummy again and after spending $140 on it a couple of weeks ago to get the automatic back tack and cut off working it now won't do either again! Also, my trusty back up Bernina keeps jamming and I've oiled it to buggrey to no avail. That $140 only gave me a couple of weeks of joyous sewing - expensive! I better make lots of sales this Xmas so that I can pay for all these repairs....

and a childs bed sheet. Does anyone know the designer? I have a similar patterned bedspread that my mum made for me when I first went into a "big" bed and I've always wanted to find out about the designer.
