This Weeks Finds....

It's been a grey old week here in Dunedin although the sun came out on Saturday to cheer us all up! It's been panic stations around here as I realized I was low on my candle stocks and had to make them in the evenings. Then, I got an order yesterday for 20 skull pincushions so it was into my sewing room for the day.

Here's what I found this week.....

She's a bit bashed up but man is she cute!

Sweet pepper shaker...

I'm going to make this into a pincushion...

New Candle!

I've finally made the mold for the new candle that I've been planning for a while now!

Ta da!!

Pretty, cute!

I can see I'm going to have to make a couple more molds for this one as already they've started selling.
Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for....I can barely fit my candlemaking around work and family as it is! Phew....

This Weeks Finds...

Not a whole lot to show for the weeks op shopping. I did get a barley twist standard lamp for $20 but it hasn't made it out of the boot of my car yet so no photo!

Here's what else I found.

Look at this wee cutie!

Emerald green velvet

This Weeks Finds...

Ooops! I missed posting last week so I'm adding it to this one. There wasn't really much to show so I gave it a miss!

I think this must have been a mustard pot or someting like that? I'm going to make it into a pincushion...

I made another terrarium with this large glass bowl...

Vintage Agee jars. I'm hoping to make some crab apple jelly this weekend as my tree is dripping in fruit!

Velvet cushion cover...

I must say I'm NOT a cat lover! I blame the allergies...

This tapestry has been in one of the local op shops here for about a year now. It had $25 on it and no one bought it but They've been dropping the price and I finally got it for $4!

Stamping...

I hope you've all been having a great Easter!

My partner and daughter went away camping for the weekend (not my thing) and that left me free to concentrate on being creative.

After cleaning the oven, making candles and a couple of tee shirts for my sister-in-law it was time to try something new. I've always wanted to try making my own stamps so now I had the perfect opportunity! There are lots of great tutorials on various craft sites so I took a look at a few and got to work....

I was inspired by these Marimekko Converse Hi Tops.....

and made my first stamp...

I then cut around an old t-shirt dress and printed the front. I was going to do the whole front but I got bored and trailed it off - I like this effect better anyway! Whipped up the dress on my trusty overlocker and - voila! I think I'm going to make a couple more of these for myself and already a friend wants one too!

Here are some other stamps I made. This first one has a slight texture to the stamp which give it a nice effect.
